Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio invites you to participate in our Holocaust Curriculum Trunk Program. These dynamic trunks are designed for elementary school, middle school, and high school educators to assist in teaching the historical facts relating to the Holocaust as well as the consequences of discrimination and apathy in modern society.
All trunks contain a variety of multimedia tools including videos, posters, photographs, maps, classroom sets of books, lessons plans and student activities, and seek to make students aware of their personal responsibility within our community.
Trunks are available on a first come, first served basis, and may be checked out free of charge for a period of four weeks. To reserve a trunk, please complete and return our Trunk Reservation Form. Upon receiving confirmation of your trunk reservation, you may pick up your trunk at the Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio, 12500 N.W. Military Highway, from 9:00 am-12:00 pm Monday-Friday. Please call the museum before picking up your trunk to ensure that staff are available to assist you.
Trunk Inventory Sheets are available online, Elementary , Middle School, and High School, a copy will be located in each Curriculum Trunk. Review the inventory immediately after pick-up to ensure the accounting of the trunk corresponds to the inventory list. If there are any discrepancies, make a notation on the sheet and fax it to (210) 408-2332, attention Christina Forsythe. The discrepancy needs to be filed with the Museum’s Education Director within 48 hours of the pick-up date.
In order to continue providing our Curriculum Trunks free of charge, it is essential that our generous sponsors understand the true impact of their gift. As “payment” for receiving the trunk, the Museum asks that each teacher and / or the students write a Letter of Thanks detailing the impact of our program. Place the letter(s) in the trunk and it will be forwarded to the recipient
The curriculum trunks are provided through generous contributions from the Alex and Sally Halff Foundation and the Charity Ball Association.
