Captured with his unit at the end of World War II, Army medic Anthony Acevedo was held at Berga, a slave-labor subcamp of Buchenwald. The first Mexican American registered in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Survivor Registry, he kept a secret diary of each day and the names of the men imprisoned beside him, so that after the war he could tell their families what happened.
His story’s first stage reading took place at our Museum in 2024. Now it comes home to San Antonio for one night only.
Be in the room on March 30, 2027 when his story is told.
