Captured with his unit at the end of World War II, U.S. Army medic Anthony Acevedo was imprisoned at Berga, a slave-labor subcamp of Buchenwald. The first Mexican American recognized in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Survivor Registry, Tony secretly kept a diary documenting his daily experiences and the names of fellow prisoners, determined that their stories would never be forgotten.
First presented as a stage reading at our Museum in 2024, Tony's extraordinary story has since been brought to the professional stage, with a recent Off-Broadway presentation in New York City. Now, this powerful theatrical production returns to San Antonio for one night only.
Be in the room on March 30, 2027, when his story is told.
Proceeds from this special performance support the Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio's educational programs, including Holocaust education for students and educators, teacher training, and resources that help young people recognize antisemitism, confront hatred, and understand their responsibility to stand up for others. Your support helps bring these essential lessons to more communities throughout Central and South Texas.
